Gnomes, Witches, and Owls Welcome Halloween on Florence Avenue in Sebastopol

This witch sculpture is just one of the many whimsical characters you will find in the front yards of residences on Florence Avenue in Sebastopol.

If you are looking for something different to do this Halloween weekend in wine country, swing by Florence Avenue in Sebastopol to see the whimsical sculptures of the local junk artists Patrick Amiot and Bridget Laurent. Gnomes, pirates, witches, majestic owls, comic heroes, and fantastical animals will greet you. These quirky sculptures that inhabit the front yards of this residential street will bring a smile to your face.

These playful sculptures created at Big Times Studio are a joint artistic collaboration. Patrick is the sculptor, while Bridget’s painting infuses each with personality and life. All are brightly painted and made from recycled junk hubcaps, pipes, headlights, even water heaters. From junkyards to monuments, their sustainable reuse and upcycle of discarded junk is appreciated by a neighborhood and agricultural town celebrated for its orchards, vineyards and and the beauty of the natural landscape.

The best part of this quest to find the art of Patrick and Bridget is that, as you approach the city of Sebastopol, you will see a few of their large pieces nestled in the rural landscape. These quirky sculptures are monuments of the creative soul of a town of independent thinkers, artists, and alternative spirits. A visit to Florence Avenue is a fun adventure any time of year, and especially during Halloween.
