“Flowers and Grapes shares the poetry I discovered during lockdown. Seeing the world through nature, landscape, and the region every day for over a year nourished my creativity and hope. Hope for new beginnings and a deeper appreciation for all the little things in life. As we all move forward together from the Covid19 pandemic, find poetry in the seasons, gardens, your community and in life.

Founder + Publisher Maya Bartolf is an avid gardener, floral designer, stylist/photographer, and garden writer. A lifelong flower fanatic, educator, and art curator, Maya has been exploring the unique intersection of flower growing, floral design, art, and life in the wine country for over 20 years.

Flowers and Grapes was launched during lockdown of Covid19 pandemic. “I had lost my job in education tech and turned to my garden and the region for daily inspiration and a sense of purpose” Maya reflected. With encouragement from her garden writing and blogger community, she returned to sharing the beauty of her garden and region. “Seeing the world through nature, landscape, and the region that I spent every day in for over a year nourished my creativity and hope. Hope for new beginnings and a deeper appreciation for all the little things in life.” Flowers and Grapes celebrates this poetry.

In 2013, Maya launched Today’s Bouquet, a boutique sustainable floral design studio along with a retail venture Pop-Up Flower Shop by Today's Bouquet. Today's Bouquet. Today’s Bouquet along with her garden blog led the way in a local field to vase movement with each romantic garden-style arrangement of seasonal flowers grown locally in her heirloom garden and locally on farms in Northern California. Poppy is her cuddly Cockapoo and sidekick often in the garden bombing photoshoots! You can follow Poppy in the Garden on Pinterest.

When not in her garden or exploring the wine country, Maya is also an educational technology consultant and new media art curator in XR: Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and 360 Immersive Storytelling.

Maya is delighted to accept any inquiries on gardening, floral design, styling, creative collaboration or speaking engagements.
